judo - getting thrown?
i started judo tonight and got my butt thrown by one guy going hardcore. i started gettin' a bad headache from it too, and I don't want to have that from here on. is this what itll be like? I'm 50% thinking I'm going to pursue studying Judo and 50% BJJ, so i was wondering if anyone could tell me their experiences and whether ot not judo is going to give headaches
Randy, you make a good point. Tonight, when he threw me like that, the sensei saw it and just said "hey hey don't throw him hard, we want him to come back." and then later the told me that the dude who threw me was an ex-navy seal and doesn't know how to go easy..but still, i didnt know how to fall, and the guy didnt even say he was going to throw me (we were doing a run through) and all of a sudden he went hardcore and it knocked the wind out of me and gave a wicked headache. BJJ looks great too, but it is just more expensive. Thanks for the answers thus far.
find another school--it takes about two months of "falls" before you are ready for throws.
