What martial art to choose?
I know this gets asked over and over again but the replies I found so far didn't help me much, other than what I knew before.
I am in my twenties and want to pick up a martial art.
So far I narrowed it down to Wushu/Karate/Taekwondo and Capoeira.
When I was younger I did acrobatic gymnastics, in recent years I've been running. I build up strength easily and enjoy hard training. I also am hyperflexible.
Oh, and I'm female.
Capoeira fascinates me for the artistic elements, but I'm a lousy dancer so it might be out of question.
I don't have much of a preference for any of the countries of origin of the three other styles. Competition against others doesn't play much of a role for me, bettering myself does.
Does that ring any bell? And do you have any pointers for me as what to pay attention to when trying out schools?
Finding a good instructor to study under is more important than picking a particular style of MAs to study. So i suggest u visit the schools and talk with the instructors. Then decide for urself which is right for u.
